'From Hidden Valleys to the Open Sea' for Chamber Orchestra was commissioned by The Manning Winter Festival in 2016. It conveys the beauty of the Manning Region, following the flight of a bird from Barrington Tops all the way through hidden valleys, to the opening of the river mouth where the water flows into the ocean.

Text and music by Jonathan Billingham 2009. The poem’s form is simple, presenting a situation, complication, decision, response and consequence. The underlying allegory that unifies the poem is intended to function alongside a message that promotes practical love to anyone in need. The title 'Servitude' implies that we are all a servant of something or someone.
